Deposition of Eunice Fowler taken Nov. 26, 1777 by Josiah Bartlett. Fowler stated that Edward Brown, yeoman of Exeter, N.H., “by wheedlings and promises of great kindness” had “carnal knowledge of her body whereby she is now pregnant with a child.”
