The Society of the Cincinnati was founded in 1783 by George Washington, Baron von Steuben, Henry Knox, and other officers of the United States Army. It was a patriotic and charitable “society of friends”, which had a branch in each of the original thirteen states.
Circular sent out by the Secretary General of the Society of the Cincinnati, presenting the president of the New Hampshire branch of the society with a copy of the group’s proceedings.
