About the Collection

Facsimilies of engravings done by various artists of scenes taken from Shakespeare’s Plays. Thirty-three plays are represented. The prints are mounted on mat board with text pasted at the bottom of each describing what characters and circumstances in each scene are being portrayed. The year after the engraver’s name is the date the original engraving was made.
