Richard B. Morse was a blacksmith in Chester, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. Besides shoeing horses and oxen, Morse repaired a wide variety of farm implements. He also served as first clerk and later captain in the Chester Militia.
Manuscript business ledger (1835-1845) of blacksmith Richard Morse. In addition to accounts related to his business, Morse noted labor accounts, purchases of business and household materials, financial obligations, and attendance at court, parish, and school meetings.
