Network Connections
- Anyone in Dimond or the branch libraries may use the UNH network to access the internet using their personal laptop.
- It is NOT possible to print from a personal laptop; please use a public workstation for printing.
- Instructions for connecting to the UNH network are available below. If you cannot connect, please use a library workstation.
- If you have problems using these instructions, and/or cannot get your laptop computer to work in the Dimond Library, visit the IT Support Center on the Main Level in the Dimond Academic Commons.

Ethernet Connection
To connect your personal laptop to the network, you will need a network interface card installed, your own 10Base-T cable, and an active Ethernet wall jack (also called a "drop").
Active Ethernet drops are located on all floors of the library: in the large reading rooms, and in the stacks areas near study tables and carrels. Drops in the reading rooms are set into the apron at one end of the designated study tables. Drops in the stacks are wall-mounted, and the active ports are designated with a bright orange "hood" or an orange "circle".
The configuration detailed in these instructions may only work within the Dimond Library, so you may need to reconfigure your laptop computer if you try to use it elsewhere.
You should write down any existing TCP/IP configurations before changing them, just in case.
These instructions will work only for laptop computers running MicroSoft Windows 95 or higher.
