Windows 7
- From the Start Menu, choose "Control Panel".
- Click on "Network and Internet".
- Click on the "Network and Sharing Center".
- Click on "Local Area Connection".
- Click on the "Properties" button in the bottom left. You may be prompted for your Administrator login and password.
- Double-click "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)".
- Ensure that the radio button next to "Obtain an IP address automatically" is filled.
- Click "OK" until there are no more properties windows open.
- Reboot to ensure that the changes take effect.
Windows 2000, XP
- From the Start Menu, choose "Settings", then "Control Panel".
- Double-Click on the "Network and Dial-Up Connections".
- Double-Click on "Local Area Connection".
- Click on the "Properties" button.
- Double-Click on "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)".
- Ensure that the radio button next to "Obtain an IP address automatically" is filled.
- Click "OK" until there are no more properties windows open.
- Reboot to ensure that the changes take effect.
