Windows 7

  1. From the Start Menu, choose "Control Panel".
  2. Click on "Network and Internet".
  3. Click on the "Network and Sharing Center".
  4. Click on "Local Area Connection".
  5. Click on the "Properties" button in the bottom left. You may be prompted for your Administrator login and password.
  6. Double-click "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)".
  7. Ensure that the radio button next to "Obtain an IP address automatically" is filled.
  8. Click "OK" until there are no more properties windows open.
  9. Reboot to ensure that the changes take effect.

Windows 2000, XP

  1. From the Start Menu, choose "Settings", then "Control Panel".
  2. Double-Click on the "Network and Dial-Up Connections".
  3. Double-Click on "Local Area Connection".
  4. Click on the "Properties" button.
  5. Double-Click on "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)".
  6. Ensure that the radio button next to "Obtain an IP address automatically" is filled.
  7. Click "OK" until there are no more properties windows open.
  8. Reboot to ensure that the changes take effect.
