New electronic resources for business

August 1, 2013

We are pleased to announce that we have five new business databases: IBISWorld, Hoover's Online, Mergent Intellect, Mergent Archives Historical Annual Reports, and Mergent Archives Key Business Ratios.

IBISWorld includes Industry Research Reports that provide key statistics and analysis on market characteristics, operating conditions, current and forecast performance, and major industry participants. In addition, it includes Industry Risk Rating Reports that determine how much risk an industry will face over the next 18 months by assessing the operating conditions for companies in the industry, as well as Global Industry Reports that assess industry performance in key regions like Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and Business Environment reports that list key factors outside the control of an organization that determine the performance of the industry.

Hoover's Online provides information on over 85 million companies with flexible tools to easily search U.S. and international companies, including Fortune 500 and other popular rankings.

Mergent Intellect provides private company data on over 85 million privately held companies globally and allows you the ability to download the data to a spreadsheet, up to 2,000 records at a time. This service also contains information on over 200 million individuals through WhitePages Pro and executive contacts on over 90 million professional decision makers. Also included is global family tree information.

Mergent Archives Historical Annual Reports allows you to access more than 85 years of Annual Reports for companies across the glove through Mergent Archives' historical annual report collection dating back to as early as 1925.

Mergent Archives Key Business Ratios consists of U.S. corporations, partnerships and proprietorships both public and privately owned, in all size ranges, and includes over 800 different lines of business as defined by the U.S. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code numbers.

If these databases are useful to you, please contact our Collection Management Librarian, Jen Carroll, or comment here.
