Library Welcomes Sarah Theimer

We warmly welcome Assistant Professor Sarah H. Theimer as our new Cataloging and Metadata Librarian. Prior to joining us, she was Principal Cataloger and Metadata Librarian at Syracuse University, where she worked for 17 years.

After getting her Master of Library Studies from the University of Maryland at College Park, Sarah worked in the Washington, DC area for several years at Advanced Sciences, Inc. and the Brookings Institution. She then moved to Boise, ID, to work at the Library and Archives Division of the Idaho State Historical Society, first as Senior Librarian, then as Administrator.

Sarah’s publications include “All Metadata Politics is Local: Developing Meaningful Quality Standards,” a chapter in New Directions in Information Organization (2013), and “What Language Death and Language Planning Tell Us About MARC and RDA,” which appeared in the Journal of Library Metadata (2012).

Sarah's additional research interests include creative problem solving and improving written communication.
