Welcome back! Over the summer, we’ve been busy making some changes.

The Loan and Reserve Desks in Dimond Library have merged. The newly named Circulation Desk, located near the front entrance, provides check-out services for library materials, laptops, and course reserves. We hope this will help make the Addison Reading Room, the former home of the Reserve Desk, more attractive for quiet study.

New study space is available in Current Periodicals and Newspapers on Level 2 in Dimond Library.

Gwynne H. Daggett (1907- 1969), UNH English professor and lifelong champion of intellectual freedom, was honored on June 12, 2009. Friends and colleagues gathered at the UNH Library for the dedication of the newly named Daggett Instruction Room.

We upgraded our online catalog. You can now export a list of items to email, a feature long requested by our users. Additional improvements include better “Did You Mean” search suggestions and wildcard searching support (e.g., environment*).

Finally, we completed converting library systems to use the new UNH ID numbers for students. These replace the use of social security numbers, improving security.

Good luck as we enter a new academic year!
