Earth Science Week at the Library

The Government Documents Department is observing Earth Science Week October 9-15 with an exhibit at Dimond Library featuring publications of the U.S. Geological Survey, the National Park Service, the Department of Agriculture, NASA, and several other government agencies. Some of the topics on display include soil surveys, geologic hazards, climate change, remote sensing, and oceanography. These documents are selected from our circulating collection on Level 1 of Dimond. In addition, the Dimond Map Room contains over 55,000 maps. All the agencies featured in the exhibit also have extensive online information. Documents staff will be happy to help you locate these web sites. Earth Science Week is sponsored by the American Geological Institute, a federation of 43 geoscientific and professional organizations.

We have just added to the display information from USGS on the NH flooding and the Pakistani earthquake. We have additional satellite photo maps of Pakistan in the Map Room.
