Course Reserves

Borrowing

The Reserve Desk is on the main level of Dimond Library in the Addison Reading Room. You must present your UNH I.D. to sign out materials placed on reserve by your professor.

Items on reserve circulate for a shortened loan period to allow maximum access for everyone. The loan period may be 2-hours, 1-day, 3-days, or 7-days depending on what your professor feels is appropriate. Most 2-hour items may be signed out overnight within two-hours of closing.

Two items may be signed out at a time.

Renewals

It is possible to renew a reserve item if no one else has requested it. You can do this in person, or by phone. To ask about a renewal, stop by or call before the item is due. The number to call is 862-2723.

Returning

All reserve items should be returned to a Reserve Desk attendant. Items returned to any other desk will be at your own risk.

Overdues

For most items, there is an overdue charge of 50 cents an hour. However, laptops are charged at $5 per hour overdue. The maximum fine per item is $50, but there is an additional clerical fee of $5 as well as a replacement charge if an item is not returned and your account is forwarded to the University Business Office. Remember, items are on reserve to maximize access for everyone in the class who needs to read the material.
