How to search for periodicals?
Search the UNH Library
Online Catalog to determine what periodicals UNH owns, their location, and their call numbers. Periodicals are generally searched by title or subject; the online catalog can be limited to search only periodicals.
Please note, however, that the online catalog cannot search the contents of periodicals. See
How to Search for Articles in Periodicals? or use the
Databases link to search for articles.
Periodicals records in the online catalog display a little differently than book records:
The periodical record will show at least 2 boxes:
the upper box (or boxes) lists the call number (location of the book the library), oldest bound volume through the most recently received issue. The lower box lists the first 10 volumes, their call numbers, location, and their availability.
Click on the 'Latest Received' link to view a listing of the loose issues, shelved alphabetically, in the Current Periodicals and Newspaper Room on Level Two of Dimond Library.
See the
borrowing policies for information on checking out bound and current periodicals.
