How to search for articles?

The Dimond Library has a number of databases and indices that can be searched to locate articles on any given topic. Indices and CD-ROM databases are located at the Reference Desk on Level 3. Online databases can be accessed through the Library Home Page.

All of the databases provide citations to articles and many provide full article text online. Many of the databases are linked to the UNH Library catalog and will provide a link to the UNH Library's holdings of a particular title. Several of the databases will also cite or provide full newspaper article text.

Citations and articles can be printed out on the Library's Uniprint system. Uniprint stations are located at the Reference Desk and in the Government Documents Data Center. A copy card must be purchased to be able to print from the Uniprinter (there is a $ .08 per page charge). In addition, many of the databases will also allow you to "print" to an email address.

In addition to the Reference services at Dimond Library, the four branch libraries also have their own collections of indices and databases. Listings of these can be found in the web pages of each respective branch. AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE DATABASES. The databases are services we subscribe to and they are not tailored to our collection. These services will cite periodicals that UNH does not own. If you would like an article from a periodical UNH does not own, you can request it through InterLibrary Loan if you are eligible. InterLibrary Loan requests can be submitted electronically through the Library Home Page.

Faculty, staff and graduate students may also request articles UNH does not own through Infotrieve if available. Items not found on Infotrieve can be requested through InterLibrary Loan.
