Fines assessed for items borrowed

Recall fines - A $10.00 fine is assessed for all items which are not returned by the new recall due date sent to you in the mail. There is no grace period for recalled items. For more information please see the recall information page.

Overdue fines - A $5.00 fine per item is assessed for all items which are more than 10 days overdue and have not been recalled. Please return or renew your books before the 10th day of the grace-period to avoid the $5.00 charge per book. Courtesy reminder notices are e-mailed out two days after a book is due. If you would like to receive fast, efficient reminders by e-mail, and you don't think we have your e-mail address yet, please send us a request to add your e-mail address to your account at Dimond.Library@unh.edu.

Presumed lost clerical fees - An additional $20.00 fine is assessed for all items which are overdue to the point that they are presumed lost. This charge applies to all borrowers.

Replacement fees - The standard replacement fee for a book is $75.00, although the fee may vary to reflect the actual replacement cost of the item or an item chosen in lieu of the lost item.

Assorted fines - Books returned damaged in any way (ink, pencil, water damage, pets, etc.) are subject to a minimum fine of $10 per book.

Other fees at the Loan Desk

New Hampshire Resident cards are $60.00 per year.

Summer NH resident cards are $15.00.

Replacement borrower cards cost $1.00.
