What is ILL?

Interlibrary loan is a cooperative program through which libraries agree to make materials from their collections available to other users. ILLiad is the system we use to manage interlibrary loan requests.

How do I Request Interlibrary Loan Materials?

If you are a UNH student, faculty, or staff person, or an approved scholar, you are eligible to establish your interlibrary loan account in ILLiad. Information about signing up for an ILLiad account is found on the Interlibrary Loan page. If you have questions about your borrowing status please contact the Dimond Library Loan Desk.

Be sure your email address is accurate a that is how the Library will communicate with you about your requests.

Once you have registered in ILLiad, simply log into your account to place a request.

How do I keep track of my interlibrary loan requests?

When you log in to your ILLiad account, you can view your interlibrary loan transactions. You will have a record of any interlibrary loan requests you have placed and be able to track the status of active requests.

Are there limits on how many items I can borrow through interlibrary loan?

If you are an undergraduate you may place up to six interlibrary loan requests per week.

What if the Dog Ate It? Dealing with Damaged or Lost Materials.

You, the borrower, are financially responsible for any damage to or loss of interlibrary loan materials, from the time you pick them up until you return them to the Dimond Library Reference Desk or the Interlibrary Loan Office.

If you make photocopies, you also are responsible for damage caused by photocopying, even if no specific photocopy restrictions are noted on the material.

Should any damage occur, please report it to the Interlibrary Loan Office; DO NOT attempt to repair it yourself as you may cause additional damage.
