What kinds of books can I borrow?

In general, most books can be obtained through interlibrary loan. Conference proceedings volumes can also be borrowed. Remember that you can also request books owned by UNH Manchester directly and books from the Boston Library Consortium though the Virtual Catalog.

However you cannot place interlibrary loan requests for the following kinds of items:

If you are unable to get these materials through interlibrary loan, the Dimond Reference Desk or a branch library reference desk may be able to suggest other options. However, sometimes you must actually visit the library that owns the material in order to use it.

How long does it take?

Generally, we receive materials within 3 to 10 days. Sometimes UNH must request the materials from several libraries before successfully obtaining it. This, of course, takes longer that the usual time. For this reason you MUST specify on the request form a deadline date beyond which the information will not be useful to you.
