Two letters written by Lewis Gaylord Clark of the Knickerbocker magazine to M.S. Beach inquiring about the possibility of publishing some accounts of the life of the notorious criminal Stephen Burroughs. The June 29 and July 2 1857 letters describe public reaction to Burrough’s book and brief biographical notes about his life and death.
