About the Kittery, Maine Legal Papers, 1652-1713

A 1713 appeal by Roger Deering, Ebenezer More, and Thomas Allen to the “Superior Court of Judicature” arguing a decision made by “the Inferior Court of Common pleas [sic] held at York” on disputed land. In addition to the 1713 appeal, includes four depositions, a 1685 deed, and the decision of Kittery’s inhabitants to “Come under the Government of Massachusetts.” All were copied from the originals as evidence for the appeal.
