What is the Dimond Academic Commons?

The Dimond Academic Commons (or DAC) is on Level 3 (Main Level) of Dimond Library and combines physical and virtual resources in an attractive and comfortable environment where students, faculty, and staff can meet and interact, working collaboratively or alone.

It merges academic and technical resources and offers the support of expert faculty and staff from Dimond Library and Computing and Information Services (CIS).

Multimedia Center can help with:
  • Viewing videos
  • Checking out videos, music, audiobooks, and CD-ROMs
  • Checking out digital cameras, camcorders, audio recorders, and accessories
Government Information can help with:
  • Finding US and Canadian documents
  • Researching government information
  • Locating maps and data
  • Scheduling instruction sessions
IT Support Center can help with:
  • Cleaning viruses and spyware from your laptop
  • Learning how to stay virus- and spyware- free
  • Getting connected - including wireless
  • Using Blackboard
  • Using Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
  • Repairing damaged files
  • Dropping off exam-scan test sheets & surveys
  • Fixing computer account problems and re-setting passwords
  • Scanning documents & images
  • Setting up your laptop to print to the library printers

Parker Media Lab can help with:
  • Creating, editing, and reviewing digital media projects
