Design workshop participants needed: undergraduates, graduate students, faculty

April 9, 2012

The Library is redesigning our web site and we need your help. What new and innovative features would you find useful? This is a chance to dream big! (And enjoy some free pizza!)

We'll be holding a design workshop each for undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty. It will take about an hour of your time in Dimond Library. They will be held:

  • Undergraduate students: Wednesday, April 25 at 6pm
  • Graduate students: Thursday, May 3 at 1pm
  • Faculty: Friday, May 4 at 3pm

If you are interested and available, please send an email to Cliff.Poulin@unh.edu or use his contact form.

I am an undergraduate student and will not be available to attend this session. However, I had a recent conversation about how difficult it is to find resources on the concept of sustainability as it is unbound from the typical subject matter of the environment and applied to a number of areas of study. I do feel that this would be a groundbreaking effort. However, sustainability is becoming increasingly studied and research by scholars, students, and community members, alike. A way to enable this process to happen more easily is if there was an awesome feature in the library.unh.edu website that housed sustainability resources that would otherwise be lost in the grand mix of data and files. Thanks so much for your time and energy. I greatly appreciate it.

Thanks, Evan. This is exactly the kind of feedback we need to design a web site that really works for UNH.

I completely agree that interdisciplinary subjects like sustainability are increasingly important and the Library web site needs to adapt to this change. Sorry to hear you won't be able to make the workshop.
